Who Am I?
My name is Jossif Ezekilov, and I am a community organizer, consultant, and off-and-on journalist. I am from Bulgaria but grew up in Washington, DC. My career has been a wild and confusing ride. I started out as a foreign policy nerd, then moved on to public health, before going to grad school for international development. While there, I got interested in gender policy and became a specialist in programs to promote positive masculinities and gender equality. My work has taken me across the world, from Latin America to Northern Africa to Eastern Europe. I have also worked on a variety of issues including civil rights, public health, gender equality, tech policy, immigration, housing justice, and the promotion of democracy.
For my entire life, I have been obsessively interested in politics. I have always strived to look for ways to break down socioeconomic barriers and make policies work to empower the most vulnerable.
When Trump was first elected, I wanted to take action. So I joined Rantt Media, where I became the Foreign Affairs editor. I got to work with some brilliant journalists and helped experts in disinformation publish their findings to the world. I also wrote about a variety of topics:
How racism and gender inequality impact our daily lives
…just to name a few.
Now that Trump is back in power, I am back to take action again. I believe the best way we can counter the threat of the authoritarian threat is to speak truth to power and cut through the fascist disinformation and propaganda.
Why subscribe?
What I aim to do is to use my previous experiences to provide substance and context to the leading issues of the day. My articles come in various formats depending on the subject. Some will be structured analysis pieces and deep policy dives. Others will be op-eds and my personal take on news events. Either way, my goal is to ensure I am providing context and nuance to complex topics so that you can be better informed and better prepared.
